Musee Gadagne

The Musée Gadagne is a museum located in the center of the Vieux Lyon, in the Saint-Jean quarter, in the 5th arrondissement of Lyon. It is composed of the Musée d'histoire de Lyon and the Musée des marionnettes du monde. The majority of the rooms are based solely on the history of Lyon, but it also focuses on the history of puppetry in Europe and France.

I thoroughly enjoyed this museum simply because I got to learn more about Lyon and what it was before what I know of it now. It was two museums in one: the history of Lyon, and the history of puppetry in Europe. I really, really enjoyed this museum :).

Please excuse the lack of descriptions: I was unable to blog sooner, and unfortunately I do not retain information as well as I like to think. Please enjoy the few descriptions and the museum's descriptions!

A friend and I getting excited for the museum, haha.

Personally, the puppets scare me a little bit.

Hmm...not too sure what to think of this...

Map of Lyon, 1872.

In the 1800s, Lyon was known for it's wooden work.

Parts of Lyon in either the 1800s, or the 1900s.

An architect had created this map in order to organize the city.

I'm always amazed at how large the statues are! This one was maybe twice my size...

The Hotel de Ville.
A noble person's bedroom in the 18th century. I think I could do with this.

This is some document regarding the revolution .

Napoleon's key to the city of Lyon.

What used to be the coventry...or the Palais de Historique Lyonnais, haha.

The corsets back then were so tight that they would actually cause women to become infertile or damage their organs.

The puppets used in the 1900s.

My two friends pretending to be puppets, haha.
